Install the WinTV-D card in your PC and you’re ready to watch both conventional and digital television in a resizable window, right on your PC screen! The WinTV-D board has 5 speaker outputs for a complete home theater sound experience.
The WinTV-D is loaded with features usually only seen on high-end television sets, like previewing 16 channels at once. And it goes further! Snap and print stills from whatever you’re watching. Or record video clips off the air or from a video camera to create your own high-impact presentations. Videoconference over the Internet by using Microsoft’s NetMeeting. And with Hauppauge’s WinTV-SnapShot application, you can capture still video images in adjustable high resolution modes to 1600 x 1200 pixels!
WinTV-D displays video by sending the digital video image directly into the memory of your PC’s VGA card without creating overhead for the CPU. So you can work on applications while simultaneously watching TV in a resizable window. WinTV-D works with most PCI VGA graphics adapters which supports Windows Direct Draw.

Digital TV will replace conventional TV broadcasts over the next few years as more TV shows are converted to digital. In the meantime, WinTV-D allows you to view both the conventional TV channels and the new Digital TV channels on your PC screen.
Digital TV is being broadcast in many areas of the United States right now (a list of Digital TV broadcasters is included in this box, or see our web site). Digital TV is broadcast over the airwaves, so you need an antenna (a rooftop antenna is recommended for best reception) to receive Digital TV. The WinTV-D has two connections: one for cable TV (or a satellite converter box or VCR) and one for the antenna. The WinTV-D software scans for both conventional TV channels and Digital TV channels.
The WinTV-D seemlessly integrates both your conventional analog TV channels (from cable TV, TV antenna or satellite TV decoder) and the Digital TV channels being broadcast in your area. You do not need to know on what channels Digital TV is being broadcast; the WinTV-D automatically scans for both conventional and Digital TV channels.
Digital TV - better TV pictures: Digital TV brings to television a new standard in video excellence. DTV dramatically reduces static, fuzziness and poor colors often seen on conventional analog television. WinTV-D's MPEG 2 video decoder delivers rich colors and noiseless images. When viewed full screen on a PC monitor, Digital TV shows are converted to fill the entire screen. All of your Digital TV shows will look like a DVD movie!
