Note: the operation of WinTV under Windows requires two pieces: a WinTV driver and a WinTV application (the WinTV application is available below in "Latest WinTV Application" section). You cannot run the application without loading the driver.

Installation instructions:

1. Download this file (WDM88X_21082.EXE) and save it to a directory you will remember (for example: C:\)
2. Run WDM88X_21082.EXE. This will unpack the driver and start the driver installation.
3. Halfway through the installation you will be asked to Reboot. Do so to continue the driver installation.
4. Download and install the WinTV application (see below).

Latest WinTV Applications

To install, copy this file to a temporary directory on your local disk. Then run wintv2k40_21126.exe, which is the installation program for the WinTV application.
New features: This version now includes integrated video clip and hi-resolution still image capture.
New features: This version now includes the WinTV32 and WinTV2000 applications.
Note: This application will run under Windows95, Windows98, Windows2000 and WindowsNT 4.0 with the appropriate driver.

Clear all WinTV files and registry entries
This program removes all WinTV programs, driver files and registry entries. To run this program, download into your C:\ directory . To run this file click on Start - Run. Then type in C:\HCWCLEAR Choose the option for total removal and click on OK.

Get information on your WinTV
This program checks you WinTV board, and displays its model number, serial number, hardware configuration and software version installed. To run this program, download into your C:\ directory and run it

Beta WinTV2000 Application

To install, copy this file to a temporary directory on your local disk. Then run wintv2k42_21342.exe, which will install the new WinTV2000 application.
New feature: This version now has on-screen display of fast forward, play and rewind.
New feature: Recording controls disappear in "no'title" mode, until you move your cursor to the TV window.
New feature: Instant Jump while playing back a file While playing a file, hit the numeric keys on the IR; the WinTV2000 player will jump to a position in the file equal to total length of the file times the number hit. For example, if you hit the "5" key, you will jump to 50% of the file length. This feature is handy when playing back large files. This feature requires a new version of the IR remote control (see below).
New feature: Command-line support for record quality via -q"profilename. For example, when setting a command line, adding -q "DVDstandardplay" will record using the DVD Standard play profile. This feature requires the new 'WinTV-Schduler' (see below).
