MediaMVP version 2
 |
MediaMVP version 2
Includes MediaMVP application, Server application and Search for Media application.
New features:
- You can quickly skip through a video being played by hitting the 0-9 buttons on your remote. When you hit one of these keys, you will skip to, for example, 10% of the video file when you hit the '1' key, 20% of the video file when you hit the '2' and so forth.
- The skip button on the remote control now advances 30 seconds in a video being played. The skip back does the same (but skips backward).
- Now includes a screen saver. After the screen saver turns on, hit any key on your remote to get back to the MediaMVP menu. (Note: a future version of MediaMVP software will allow the setting of a timer for when the screen saver goes on).
- You can now turn off thumbnailing in the Settings/Configuration menu.
- Bug fix: some MP3 files had audio distortion on playback. This problem was found and fixed.
To install the new MediaMVP application and utilities:
- remove the power plug from the MediaMVP (it needs to be turned off while the software is updated)
- download the new MediaMVP setup program
- run the MediaMVP setup
- turn on the power to the MediaMVP, and it will load the new application

PVAStrumento version 2.0.30
PVAStrumento, from our friend Wiljo Heinen, will give you information on MPEG video files. In addition to letting you know the bit rate of the file, it will also tell you the type (MPEG-1 or MPEG-2) of the file.
To use, after opening PVAStrumento, type your file name in Input stream, then click the Info button. Under Video, look at Nominal bitrate. This is the target bitrate (but not the maximum bitrate) when the video file was recorded.

- WMA music player (requires Windows Media 9 on your PC)

This is a complete installer, and includes the MediaMVP application, MediaMVP Server application and Search for Media application.
New features:
The DivX player, Internet radio and WMA support are new in this version (for beta test only). Here is a document which descibes how to use these features. Note: you need to have a DivX player on your PC in order to play DivX videos on MediaMVP.
Fix for Failed to contact GUI server:
This error message might show up in some local area networks with either firewall software, traffic shaping software (e.g. Netlimiter, etc.), or even with the latest "Advanced networking package for XP" (on some PCs together with other 3rd party software).
This error has been fixed by changing the MediaMVP GUI server network connection inheritance scheme. A software update with this fix is included in our latest MediaMVP installer. To install, download this link and run it, then unplug your MediaMVP so it can load the new software.
To install the new MediaMVP application and utilities:
